what up, what up? Still cruising along in this fucked up world of music. Everyone but me will be in putting the finishing touches on the album this Sat. As soon as that's done I'm going in and we'll be done. Once again, sorry for the delay but it's out of our hands. When you want the best you have to take what you can get. Thomas Johnson is the man and we are truly blessed to be working with him, you'll see. Our good friend Gabe Godwin is also stepping in to help out with some final touches on the recording process. Thanks to everyone who came out to Big Can's in Winston-Salem on the 25th of Jan. for their last rock show ever. We'll be playing the Winterfest at The Somewhere Else Tavern on Feb. 9th with some other awesome bands. We also just got added to our good friends Langus' CD release party in Cincinnati, OH in April. That will definitely be a blast. We haven't been playing much because we are trying to get our shit together on the album and merch. Both will be on and banging in the near future. As always, If you get a chance to check out our coverband "Koozie" than please check us at myspace.com/kooziemusic
The new material is our best yet and I can't wait to play it all out live. We love you guys and as always big love to Jagermeister, Little John's Tattoo, and Everly Strings. Without our sponsors and fans we would be shit. Well we kind of are shit anyways but you love it. One Love Cheebo

what up peoples? Thanks to everyone who came out to Ziggy's on Halloween night and threw down with us. It was our first time at Ziggy's in a year and we love that place. As you all probably know by now it's closing down forever on Thanksgiving and we will be playing there one more time on Nov. 17th with our good friends, The Solos. Should be a great night. Big love to Crow and Jay for putting up with us and letting us have our way for so many years. We have played with a lot of great bands at Ziggy's including: Sevendust, NonPoint, Clutch, Flawed, Switched, Stuck Mojo, 420 Monks, 2 Skinnee J's, and numerous local acts whom know we love them too. If you haven't gotten a chance yet, be sure to check out James and my cover band "Koozie" if you get a chance. You can check out our dates at myspace.com/kooziemusic. We play everything from Fleetwood Mac to Tool so it's interesting and a good time.
On another note. We are about to finish up our new album. It is taking some time but we have to get it right and our producer, Thomas Johnson, won't settle for just anything. I basically have to lay down the vocals and that's it. Plus we have made a new addition to the band. Our good friend Eric Turner has jumped on board to handle the bass skills. Bean is moving back on guitar which means we'll be dropping some three guitar player madness on your asses. The sound is incredible. We will be debuting this new arrangement at Ziggy's.
We will be back in Myrtle Beach soon celebrating the release of our good friends Flick It CD Release party. Always a good time.
Big love to everyone sticking with us over this past year. It's been tough on everybody and we'll pay you all back with some success hopefully. Never give up on your dreams because you only live once. Disc Golf for life and Much love to all of you. Hit us up and check out a show soon. Peace Cheebo

yo, how you been my friends? We've been knocking it out and are getting ready to go in the studio and knock out a new album, we have the material ready and we are ready. We need our new sound out to represent us.
We have some great shows coming up but we will have to cancel our show this thursday night because I have to work in Cary, N.C. on Wed. and Thurs. We greatly regret this because it's an opportunity to play with our boys from Heavy Contact and it would be our first time at the club. We will be playing, however, on Friday the 20th at The ClubHouse in Greensboro with my coverband as well, KOOZIE. We always have a great time at the ClubHouse and it's always off the hook. We will also be playing the very next weekend at The Somewhere Else tavern on Fri. July 27th with Todd X and Lee Myers new band LOVE/HATE TRADE (Sure to be off the hook). We've done a little traveling over the past month and have had some great shows. Thanks to Steven Hartley and the guys at House of Blues in Myrtle Beach and Brian, Aaron and the best soundman in the business Rob at Hooligan's in Jacksonville. We hadn't played with our fellow jager band, Souls Harbor, in a while and I must say they are impressive. Check them out if you get a chance. As always, big love and respect to all of our sponsors and get out to support some local music over the next couple of weekends. Be on the lookout for new merch and new cd in the near future. Love you all Cheebo and the Five L's

By the way, we will be playing with our boys from 8 Foot Stride in Wilmington on the 4th of Aug. We are excited to go play with those guys and always have a great time in Wilmington. lata homie and homiets

what up, what up, what up. Nothing but love to all the fans who have been showing us big support in our comeback. We have had some of the best shows since our return. Mad love to all the folks at Hooligans in Jacksonville, N.C. for allowing us to tear it down with Kittie, Walls of Jericho ( that bitch is bad ass) and In this Moment. We do have free Ozzfest tickets from Jagermeister so please get out to a show soon and capitalize on them. We are playing the Tool after party @ Ziggy's in Winton-Salem on June 13th so that would be a great opportunity to score some. We are going to fill our schedule here in the next couple of weeks so be on the look out for show updates. The new line-up is really coming together. Quincy and Bean are god sends and fit right in and added to our sound. Quincy's harmonies blow my mind and I think it gives us a new identity. We are hoping to seperate ourselves from the normal sound which is just everywhere. Lately all bands have been sounding the same to me. We should have all new merch by the 13th and always have plenty of jager swag.
I would like to announce the arrival of my newest family member, Vanderlei Bishop Baldwin. My son is healthy and looks just like me, that's a good thing I think. He is actually 12 weeks now and I will post some pics soon on my site. thanks and big love - cheebo
5.05.07
well, we're officially back and stomping ass. Big love to everyone who came out to the Somewhere Else Tavern for our first show back and filling that place up. Burly is the man and there was no other place to do our first show back. When we couldn't get a gig 7 years ago Burly was the only one who would give us a show.
Then the following weekend we filled the ClubHouse up and tore the roof off that joint. These shows are a testament to our loyal fans and we would be shit without you guys, so much love.
Last night we played with Kittie, Walls of Jericho, and In This Moment in Jacksonville, N.C. to a sold out crowd. It was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had to hear the roar of those fuckers after and during every song. For being 3 hours away from us, they treat us like we're one of them. The pit was brutal and the love after the show will never be forgotten. I do finally think we got our line-up strait. The harmonies with Quincy and the new songs are sounding out of this world. Everyone please come out and check out the new sound on May 16th at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem. We are playing with King Spaid ( Members of Kotton Mouth Kings) and the Suburban noise crew. We play at 8:30 sharp so come early. Thanks again for all the crazy support you guys have given us and we won't let you down. We're next................! Big Ups to Jacksonville, Hooligans, and the men Brian, Rob, and Aaron for hooking us up and making us sound great. We will be back asap jacksonville. Samurai BEEEEOTCHES

what up fools. We're back as of Apr. 1st. Things have been trying but we are stronger for it. The new line-up is really coming together and our practices are getting tight. As you probably know Brandon Bean has returned from his stint in the Marines to fill our void at bass player ( God Rest Bo Richards). I can't say that I thought he wouldn't be great at bass eventhough his first instrument is the guitar. But I have been thoroughly impressed with the seamless transition he has provided us. Brandon is a stud in short. Our new drummer is also out of this world. Once again I didn't know what to expect but was blown away when I went to the first practice with him. James, Who is very hard to impress, told me he was deadly. Now that I have seen him for myself I must say I agree. Our newest edition is Quincy Mooring, formerly of Trial By Error, and he is also the perfect fit for what we're doing. I can't wait and thanks to all of our fans who have stuck by us and sent their condolences for our loss. We will be back and working harder than ever. All of our sponsors are still on board and backing us as much as ever. Stay tuned for further developments and expect a new Five L's ablum in the near future. Big Love Cheebo and The L's and Jagermeister Music
11.03.06
We finally got up for the first time with Bean, or at least James and I did. Mike is spending time with his family and supporting his ailing father. It never stops sometimes or so it seems. Something good has to come out of a bunch of shit, right?
The sound will be a little to a lot different and I'm very excited. We will still get heavy at times but we're grooving on some different shit as well.
Be on the lookout in Nov. and Dec. (I'll give more details when I get them) for a Fox 8 special featuring us. There will also be a News and Record special featuring us and the return of Brandon Bean as he's served his time in Iraq and defended our country. Life comes full circle sometimes and things are meant to be. Brandon has always been an L.
Has everybody had a chance to listen to Let Me Breathe? It's a shotty recording but you get the idea. I love it myself and it's the first song in a long time I could just sing on. As I get older, singing is a lot more interesting to me than screaming. I love screaming, don't get me wrong, but at some point it becomes played out.
If were not scene, that's fine, we're writing for us and everyone who needs variety in life.
Stay tuned for further updates and start spreading the word. We need support more than ever. We'll be back soon. Much Love Cheebo and The L's
10.13.06
hello and thank you for all your support over the last three weeks. It's been a trying time as Bo has been our brother for a long time. Bo and I started this band almost 7 years ago and I never dreamed of something like this. Bo got along with everybody and will live on through his son Ryan, his unborn baby with Tammy ( a girl) and the band.
After a lot of consideration and soul searching we have decided to keep the band name the same and move on more vigorously than ever. We feel we owe Bo that. Besides his family, this band was his life. He gave us everything we ever needed and was the best bass player I've ever had the pleasure of jamming with and maybe the best I ever seen live period. I can see his Marlboro burning now.
I've been out in my back shed for the past 2 hours cleaning out all of our old stuff and organizing my new "hopefully studio". I came across a lot of old pictures and posters and compilation cd's we've been on and even our original artwork for our fist cd. I can remember doing everyone of them by hand and printing them ourselves. It's hard to understand but all we can do is work harder than ever. This band has been lazy for the last year and a half and that's all about to change.
I'd like to make an announcement that is of global proportions. One of our original two guitarists, Brandon Bean, will be rejoining the band to complete our circle. Brandon has always been our brother and after defending our country for the last four years he is coming home to what he loves. Music and this band. James, Brandon and Mike will all play guitar and all play bass. We are going to expand our sound and not filter anything. Whatever it is it is. No limitations. Enjoy the new song we've uploaded and we'll get some more ready asap. thanks again and god bless. No one is promised tomorrow so live full out.
Please keep Bo's family in your prayers. This is a tough time for them. We will have a real benefit in his honor when we are ready to take the stage again. I would also like to thank our brothers from Of Life and Death and St. Diablo for performing at his benefit in Thomasville. People underestimate the power of musicians relationships. We all understand that we are striving for the same thing. These two bands can ask us for anything and we'll deliver. That goes for a lot of bands but I'm not going to take the time to run them down. And to all the bands that hate on the local scene and down everybody but your own little "scene" your missing out on a lot of good music and good people. god bless all of you and peace out. cheebo and the five L's
9.02.06
what up, what up, long time huh, where the hell have you all been, I need fans to write news pages. If your down hit me up and get your ass to work.
More changes have taken place since the last time but these changes are final and probably what we needed from the beginning. It was a mutual and friendly departure for our new singer Cowboy. Please check out his new project "Gabriella Cutthroat". We will always love Cowboy and will support him in whatever he does.
A big thanks goes out to Element who came back and filled in for the 102.1 Jams party at Emerald Point. We got the first all black mosh pit started, and in a wave pool at that. The show was awesome and we may have made a connection with Fantasia Barrino who became a huge fan. We all do everything for something.
The show tonight in Charlotte has been rescheduled once again due to A&R cancellations, Oh Well. Everyone please come out this weekend to The Marriott downtown Greensboro for Little John's Tattoo Convention. We will be performing both nights (8th and 9th) for FREE. Friday night we will be playing with The Tremors and Sat. night we will be playing with Bloodjinn. Both nights will be off the hook because it's FREE Mother F@$%&#$ers.
Check the website and the myspace soon for new material. Cheebo will be doing all the vocals now and is very excited about it. Once again thanks to all of our sponsors and all of our fans. The sound may change a bit but you'll love it. Hold it down The L's

From the desk of Terry Jonquil:

Whats up Lians? Shits a poppin for us here in the next couple of months so be sure to stay tuned to the MySpace page for daily updates. We have quite a few shows coming up including three, this weekend. Well be tearing the roof off of the ML Nightclub in Concord, this Thursday night with our friends Of Life and Death. This is a new venue for us and they have a fucking Mexican restaurant in the club!! Be on the lookout for picante shooting right out of our b-holes.
Friday, we'll actually be playing the Grimsley High Carnival. I cant imagine us around underage chicks, so everyone bring their mustard. This show should be one they'll tell their grandkids about. Props to Grimsley for having the balls to let us play. James will ,no doubt, be nostalgic. Saturday takes to wonderful Fayette-Nam to play at Jesters with our friends Pinebox Destiny, which should be a blast.
Next Thursday, the 24th, we will be playing at Emerald Pointe with w/Young Joc, Cassie, Snoog, The Backyard Band and Young Dro. This show should be one hell of a way to close out the summer, so come out and get wet with the Ls.
September holds good things including the return of the Tattoo Convention, September 8th and 9th hosted by our sponsor, Little Johns Tattoo. September 8th is James' birthday so we gonna party like it's 1997. Also well be playing three new places the Red Rooster on the 14th(sorry, no girls gone wild) for Summer Slam, Brewballs and the Raven in Burlington, and the Soundvent in Thomasville. Check the MySpace often would be the general idea of this sentence.
Recording is still underway and I think everyone is real excited about the new sound and direction that we are headed. This record is going to make your suicidal uncle finally have the guts to pull the trigger. We dont have a release date, but stay tuned for updates.
Lastly, big up to our sponsors that keep us truckin: Jagermeister, Little Johns, Everly Strings, Tampax, Dr. Jelleyfinger you get the idea. These guys seriously back us with ferocity, which is always appreciated. Bring your asses out to some shows and get stupid with our stupid asses. DO IT!!

Love,
Terry Jonquil and the Ls

Ps. Anyone wanna get owned in SOCOM2?holla at machetemiller.

we got a couple of busy months ahead of us starting this weekend in Raleigh @ The Raleigh Music Hall. It's a Pre-Ozzfest Party and should be hype.
Speaking of hype, Cowboy has finished his vocals on the first three tracks and I will do mine tomorrow so look for some snippits on the site soon. Sounds diesel. We've been in slow motion lately but things are about to pick up. Thanks to the few who came out even after the Phunk Junkeez cancelled on Sun. night. We needed to play anywayzzzzzzzzz.
I just got a copy of the track that Me and Cowboy did with Heavy Contact and it's off the f(*%$..*ing hook.
William Zaybiane is doing his cd release soon so be sure to check myspace.com/heavycontact to see when it is and get your ass out there.
As always big love to jagermeister, everly strings, little john's tattoo, rock steady clothing ( I think) and all of our fans. I know this album is a long time coming but it's going to be worth it. It's the best we've done yet and I speak for all of us. You never know what's going to happen, you have to just keep on gettin' it and hope for the best. life is short and our government is corrupt so get what you can and go for broke. cheebo
7.13.06
hello mofo's, here's your look into our world and Bo's pants, (Not Pretty if your looking in his pants).
The recording is going great (finally) after a couple of snags. Recording never goes smooth, for any band that has recorded an album you know what I mean. There's always something to deal with musically or personel wise. Either way we have toiled and got all the drum tracks recorded as well as most of James and Bo's guitar and bass tracks. We're waiting on Mike to get off the XBox and we'll get him in the studio today or tomorrow hopefully. Then when all is said and done, Cowboy and I will destroy the vocals, or as I like to call mine, Smocals.
As you know, our trip to Cincinnatti has been cancelled due to uncontrollable circumstances with our friends from Langus. The lead singer lost both of his parents at the same time so if you get a chance, hit 'em up at myspace.com/langus and send your support.
We are doing our first label showcase on July 21st at the Steeple in Charlotte. We will be playing for Revlis Records owners as well as the Man who books and scouts talent for The Warped Tour and the Scout for Crush Entertainment. We have busted our asses for 6 years and it's time for it to pay off. Check our show dates and come show the love soon. We are playing with our Boys from the Phunk Junkeez on July 30th at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem so get out there. thanks and love all cheebo
6.19.06
yo, yo, yo, you ho, ho, ho......you know, know, know, what it is right now. It's an exciting time for us right now as we are discovering our sound and new energy. Cowboy has been a god send and we're just getting tighter and tighter with our new songs.
We're recording right now and have tracked Samurai, Let Me Breathe, Lexiprobe, and Can I Be Something New. By the way, I finally went and recorded my verse and chorus with Heavy Contact and William Zaybiane and it is fucking awesome. Some of the hottest shit I've ever done. Big thanks and props to the Heavy Contact crew for having me in to do it.
Last night was a blast and a good show for Cowboy's 24th Birthday. When I sang happy birthday that was the biggest crowd ever on stage for a happy b-day ballad ( At least 6, discluding Scrappy who was too afraid to come on stage, love ya anyway).
Last night was supposed to be our last local show for awhile but we have scheduled one more for The Blind Tiger next Sunday the 25th of June. It is a Myspace Party and should be off the hook. Heavy Contact and Timid will be playing with us and The Suicide Darlings as well.
The Langus CD release party in Cinn. has been pushed back to the first of Aug. we'll let you know when it's rescheduled.
Big things are on the horizon for us, I can feel it in my BONE, and bones as well. We're working hard and should have a couple new songs up on our myspace sometime soon, at least some snippets of new stuff.
If you get a chance, check out anything by Chris Whitley or Malcolm Holcomb in the near future and change your musical aura. I love everyone and stay in tune for updates. thanks and peace my peeps cheebo
6.05.06
what it is my nation? Been a minute since the last update but we've been playing 3 or 4 times a week recently and been busy with home life. Everybody is fine health wise but we have a few legal issues that we need to resolve soon.
The new album is on and banging for those who arn't aware and we will be living the process this time as we're recording our own record with the help of Thomas Johnson again, who's worked with everybody in the business and recorded some live Warped Tours as well as some of the biggest names in the industry.( Porno For Pyros, Buju Banton, Rancid, NoFX, Jane's Addiction and many more). Thanks to everyone who has been coming out and throwing down with us lately. We've had some great shows in Fayetteville, Jacksonville, Danville, ( What the fuck? do we only play in towns that end in ville?) Just a random observation as I was listing the cities we've been to recently. The show at Ziggy's was off the hook, much respect to the entire line-up that night. Please check out all the bands from that show and hit their myspace if possible. Soul Stalkaz, Heavy Contact ( who by the way are getting unstoppable in the hip-hop game), Of Life and Death ( A new local Heavyweight, no shit), Timid ( Homies for Life), St. Diablo ( they put on a hell of a show), and of course US.
We will be working hand in hand with Black Bird Productions soon to make sure our merchandise and local shows are up to par.
We are playing our last local show for over 3 months on June 17th at The Somewhere Else Tavern. I'm not sure of the line-up but we will play at 10 or 11. Stay posted on the shows page for that info.
A special thanks to everyone who came out yesterday and supported the ARC of High Point in a good cause and helped to raise a significant amount of money for the handicapped in High Point. I'm not going to get too much into the contest because for the first time in a long time I felt we got totally fucked. One of the judges called after the show and said we we're disqualified from the 1,000 dollar prize because we cursed. That's crap, no parent or child was offended by anything we did, they had no problem with us bringing 90 percent of the crowd and drinking all their fucking beer for the entire day. As far as I'm concerned, The judges that disqualified us can suck my ____. We busted our asses for that event and got people out in the heat of the day for some bullshit. But I do want to make it clear that The Tremors are tremendous friends of mine and the bands and we have no hard feeling towards them. They are one of my favorite local bands and deserve good things. Yesterday was just our day, plain and simple.
Anyways, stay on the myspace page and website as they are about to be overhauled just like our sound on the new album. We're not done beeotcheeezzzzzzzzz, we've just begun.................

hola and what's up, we've been tearing shit down left and right. We've got a full line-up for may and june is close behind. Please check the shows page and make it out to one or all of them depending on your situation and location. We're excited for this Friday, We are playing with Byzantine @ Plan B in Danville, Va. with our good friends from Shadow's Within and Bloodjinn. Guaranteed to be a beast.
We had a late one on Tuesday but it was worth it. We played with NonPoint in Jacksonville, N.C. and peeled the paint. We always get a great reaction from the Jacksonville crowd but they were really on point this time. It was their first time seeing us with Cowboy and I believe they loved it. We'll be back in Jacksonville soon so stay tuned. We are also returning to Ground Zero in Spartanburg, S.C. on May 19th with 6 other bands and it should be a great show as well.
I definitely want to spread the word that my DJ, Scoop Armstrong, is going to be a proud papa. He can fill you in on the details if you go to Heavycontact.com and check him out. Big love and congrats my brutha.
Be on the lookout for William Zaybiane's new album in June. I still have to finish my part but it's always best when you rush in.
I just love when a plan comes together and it is coming together now with the new line-up. We are doing a jager party at Ziggy's on May 26th of this year with Timid, St. Diablo, Soul Stalkaz, and T.B.A.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support Crow of Blackbird Productions last weekend. It was for a great cause and we're all happy to see him back on his feet and drinking like a fish. Our merch should be straight real soon by the way.
Stay in tune and smoke all the boom, shut your mouth and go to your room, I'm strictly 40 ounce typhoon, you may sing but nigga I croon. peace and see you soon cheebo
4.18.06
hello mofo's. The last few shows have been awesome. The crowd response right down to Cowboy's crazy black ass has been off the hook. Big love to Ground Zero in Spartanburg, S.C. for having us for the first time. We had a great show with our good friends from St. Diablo and they will be joining us at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem on May 26th for a zinger of a show. This show also includes Timid and Soul Stalkaz right now and more will be added later. I'm going in to finish "The Closer" with Heavy Contact asap and be sure to check it out when it's finished because it's hot as hell.
Thanks as well to all the people who came out to Ham's on High Point Road for a hell of a throwdown. We will suggest more bartenders next time so people can actually make it to the bar. The place was packed. We will be back there May 17th which is a Wednesday along with Les Vegas so bring it.
The new album is under way and knocking. Some of the new stuff includes: Can I Be Something New, Samurai, Lexaprobe, Let Me Breathe, Shades of Repeat, A new full band version of Wendy, and unnamed songs as well. I promise this is our best effort yet. Our energy level is off the charts right now as well so watch yo' lips. Big love to Jagermeister for the new swag. Them bitches sent me some watches, A jager watch, how bout dat. I'm on my way to work so stay in touch on www.thefivels.com and myspace.com/thefivels. We love and need you to do what we need to do so spread the word and hold it down on the L train. mucho love cheebo
3.29.06
what up, what up, a lot to get to and I must hurry because I'm on my way to work. First off I would like to thank Adam and all the people who came out to the Carmicheal building on the UNCG campus to help us shoot our live video. I know it was the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday but my peeps represented. We had a great time and much love to Adam and his crew for taking time out of their schedule to help us out.
It was a super show this last Sat. @ The Somewhere Else Tavern. Winterfest is always banging but this year was exceptional. Not only were the bands great but the crowd was on point. Much love to our boys from CYN and Of Life and Death and The Virus Twins. My boy Loco and his partner tore shit up from the floor up. Be on the look out for them to come play with us again.
We'll be playing this Friday for the first time at Zion Bar and Grill. It's right off of Guilford College, you just turn directly across from the Sheetz gas station off of Guilford. If your coming from the 40 direction you will take a right on Hornaday then take your first right off that street then you'll turn left on Roanne Way. The club is in the first big parking lot on the left. Hope to see everyone out because we will be sharing the stage once again with the boys from Heavy Contact. By the way, I love it when Scoop comes to show out with us on stage, He was awsome on Sat. even doing new songs he'd never heard before ( that's talent bitchez)
The new album is a work in progress so to all the people asking, it will be worth the wait, and we are working diligently I promise.
I love disk golf by the way and I'm getting fairly deadly, anybody that wants to challenge me or just go throw em just let me know because I'm always down.
We have some killer shows coming up and a new sponsor announcement as well. please check the shows page and visit us at myspace.com/thefivels for dialy updates and new pics. thanks again for all the support and all the love. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday as well. I'm finally 21 so I can drink legally ( ha ha ha). This Friday's show at Zion will be my official birthday party so bring gifts. hope to see you all soon. thanks and love cheebo

It's on, It's on, I'll take your queen with my lowly pawn. We will be playing Friday night in Danville, Va. with our good friends from Timid @ Plan B. This will only be our second time playing the club but if it's as energetic as the first time we'll be more than happy. The fans in Danville are sick. By the way, Crossbreed has cancelled and who gives a fuck. They've been kicked off of the Nothingface tour and they cancelled all of their in between dates. They didn't even have the courtesy to call the club and tell them, they had to find it out through their website. Some bands get to a level where they think their shit don't stink and that's fucked up. Without the fans and the clubs they wouldn't be shit. They forget all the people who spend their allowance and shitty paycheck to check their ragged asses out and think that we owe that to them. Well I say Fuck Em with my boot. The show will be awesome anyways.
On another note, We will be performing at the Myspace Party III this Sunday March 5th @ The Blind Tiger in Greensboro. It's always off the hook at the Blind Tiger and I'm expecting the same this Sunday. The line-up is awesome and includes our homies from Heavy Contact, Solos, Malamondos, Josh Thompson, Little Mascara, and Lube. Come out early because Lube is kicking shit off at 5:30 in the afternoon. We go on at 10p.m. The breakdance group EMT will be wreckin up the floor all night in between bands. Josh In The Box from 107.5 Murphy In The Morning Show will be the M.C. for the evening and there will be lots of free giveaways.
I just got home from practice and I'm amped as hell. I can feel something coming, I don't know what it is but I can feel it. We wrote another new song tonight at practice and they are getting better and better. It feels good to give yourself goose bumps, I hope they do that for you. We are steadily working on the album and I promise it will be stellar. Element is doing great by the way and Cowboy is coming into his own. The stage show has gone throught the roof since the addition of Cowboy and it's only going to get better. Big love to all of our sponsors as always and get your ass by Little John's Tattoo and get some ink. Tell em Cheebo sent you and it might get you a discount. It's on fools. Our new era has officially begun. We are working harder and playing harder than ever. Sometimes change can spark shit up and it has. Thanks to everyone who came out to Plan B last weekend and showed us much love. We've gotten a huge response from the show and it's a great feeling. Especially when that's only the second show for Cowboy, It's only going to get better. I hope all of you can make it back to Plan B on March 3rd because we will be playing there again along with Timid and Crossbreed. This show will definately be off the hook. We go on first so get there early. On a different note, we are actually recording some new material this weekend since we're off and we are super excited. The new material is monsterous and we can't wait to capture that shit. We will have all new pics up on the website in a couple of days as well as new pics from every show we do from here on in. We are booking mad shows now so keep checking the shows page for updates. You can check our shows out on the shows section of this page or on our myspace page @myspace.com/thefivels. If you want us to come to your area just shoot us an email and the name of the club in your area we need to contact and we'll do it, we're ready to tear shit down. I am also currently recording a track with Heavy Contact, featuring our former turntablist Scoop, and William Zaybiane and Tenacious so be on the look out for that and check them out at www.heavycontact.com for some enlightenment on the hip hop scene world wide. Everything happens for a reason and we are on this course for a reason. I can feel some shit coming on. Thanks to you and all of our sponsors as always and see you at a show soon.
By the way, If you get a chance to check out Malcolm Holcombe @ www.malcolmholcombe.com. It's well worth it. He just may be my idol and the single greatest performing artists I have ever witnessed. Check him out and peace out. Cheebo

hello, hello, suck my big toe, come to a show, do some blow, grow a fro, lick toilet bowls, and clean out your bowels. It's a new year and a new direction for The Five L's. We have officially been a band for 6 years this March and we are hungrier and more excited than ever. We have lost a great member of our family, Timmy (Element) Westmorleand has chosen to step away from the band and pursue new avenues of life and we have given him our full support and blessing. We love Timmy but the band is going in all new directions and there's no time to slow down now. We had an off year in 2005 but that's because we counted on too many other people to do things for us and stopped doing for ourselves. Let me tell you, you only get out of this what you put in and that was evident last year. I wouldn't say we let success get to us because we havn't had any yet. What we did do is step back and learn a lesson. We are excited as hell to introduce our newest member Cowboy!!! That's right, I said Cowboy. If you know him right now your going Holy Shit!!!!! and If you don't, after you see us with him you'll go Holy Shit!!!!!!!! We are working for a new sound in a new year and we are fucking excited with the new direction. Starting now we are going harder and going futher than ever. Everything happens for a reason and we're going to capitalize on our new found energy. Music can take a lot out of you when your around the same area for a long time so you reinvent yourself somtimes to keep things new, and that's what's happening. We are going to book our asses off and play all over the place in the upcoming months so stay tuned for new dates and new events. The news page will be updated every five or six days and new pictures will be posted after each show as well. Nothing but love to all of our sponsors: Jagermeister, Jnco Jeans, Everly Strings, Little John's Tattoo, and Red Bull. I know our sponsors are behind us and it's time to take the next step. As always we need all of our fans and friends to be anything so come out and show the love and support in the new year and get on the L train, smoking more than ever. If you like to read, I just finished the auto biography of Willie Nelson and it's well worth your time if you get the chance. I learned to never stop short of what you want, god puts us all in a position to get what we want but you have to work harder than the next guy or he can steal it. remember that............nothing but love to everyone and welcome to the new Five L's. peace cheebo
